Raw, Pure Honey

We have two hives of Carniolan bees who create our RAW (never heated) honey. Raw, local honey is supposed to help ease seasonal allergies and while we can't officially make that claim, we can say its delicious!

Honey harvests change in color, texture and flavor profiles depending on the time its harvested- our FIRST harvest here is a spring and early summer, which is a light amber in color and matched with an equally light floral taste.

We can't say for sure what flowers they have been loving (bees travel up to 5 miles!) but we are surrounded with apple trees, pear trees, fleabane, ox-eye daisy, and come late July- a field FULL of the most beautiful Queen Anne's Lace and other Dara family flowers.

Our approach to beekeeping is very conservative and we keep a lot of the honey for the hive itself- we are extremely gentle and careful to make sure that the bees are treated KINDLY which means less honey for us, but a better hive in the long run.
